The NBA G League conducted its draft for the 2026/27 season on Saturday, with the Texas Legends selecting former lottery pick Jeremy Sochan with the No. 1 overall pick. Sochan plans to join the Dallas Mavericks' affiliate in an effort to return to the NBA after being waived by the Portland Trail Blazers following the preseason.
The 23-year-old forward previously played for the San Antonio Spurs and won a championship with the New York Knicks. Holding Sochan's G League rights allows the Mavericks to evaluate him directly, though any NBA franchise remains eligible to sign him to a standard contract.
