Ayo Dosunmu has always believed he has only one direction he is supposed to go. Forward. That mentality was instilled in him long before he became an NBA player.

Logan Harlow examines how Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ayo Dosunmu has thrived in an expanded role while Anthony Edwards remains sidelined. Reflecting on his recent Players' Tribune essay, Dosunmu credited his forward-moving mentality to his upbringing on Chicago's South Side and the memory of his late childhood friend Darius Brown.
After spending his early life and career in Chicago, Dosunmu adapted to Minnesota following a trade deadline move and a summer extension. Over his first three starts replacing Edwards, Dosunmu averaged 19.7 points, followed by a 21-point performance in a 117-107 victory against the Houston Rockets.
