LaMelo Ball leads the league in fouls per game. If this trend continues, the Minnesota Timberwolves won't reach their championship ceiling.

Writer Eamon Cassels argues that Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball must reduce his fouls to help the team reach its full potential. Ball fouled out after playing just 20 minutes in a 121-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, shooting 2-for-10 from the field. Through his first seven games with Minnesota, Ball leads the league with 4.3 fouls per game, restricting him to an average of 25.2 minutes per contest.
Cassels writes that Ball's foul trouble stems primarily from poor discipline and defensive positioning rather than bad officiating. With Anthony Edwards sidelined, the writer emphasizes that Minnesota urgently needs Ball to remain on the court as their primary shot creator and offensive facilitator.
