While Terrence Shannon Jr. is talented, it's hard to see how he fits on a Timberwolves team filled with established on-ball players.

Writer Eamon Cassels argues that the preseason has clouded Terrence Shannon Jr.'s exact role with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Although Shannon is expected to feature in the team's top-eight rotation, Cassels expresses skepticism about whether he can reliably serve as an on-ball creator. He notes that Minnesota possesses superior playmakers, including Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, Jaden McDaniels, and Jonathan Kuminga, making it difficult to justify shifting heavy on-ball responsibilities to Shannon.
Cassels highlights Shannon's mixed preseason performances, pointing out that his strong 19-point showing against the Miami Heat came largely against reserves. When playing alongside regular starters in two prior preseason games, Shannon averaged just 7.5 points while shooting 33.3 percent. Cassels asserts that Shannon's reliance on his left hand, poor catch-and-shoot efficiency, and defensive shortcomings make his long-term fit uncertain unless his complementary skills significantly improve.
