Chris Finch made a revealing admission after the Timberwolves’ season opener that could carry bigger implications for Minnesota’s rotation.

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch admitted he made an error by not putting the ball in Terrence Shannon Jr.'s hands sooner. Following Minnesota's 131–106 season-opening victory against the Miami Heat, Finch praised Shannon's effectiveness as an on-ball initiator, describing him as functioning like a point guard who applies early pressure on opposing defenses.
Shannon scored 10 points in under 20 minutes alongside Anthony Edwards, who recorded 45 points, and debutant LaMelo Ball. Finch noted that Shannon is naturally more comfortable initiating offense from the top of the floor rather than operating primarily as a corner spot-up shooter.
