Julian Reese signing a two-way deal with the Pelicans gives them the type of rebounding presence they need from a next man up this season.

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed forward Julian Reese to a two-way deal, according to HoopsHype's Mike Scotto. Pelican Debrief's Chris Lambert argues the move is a home-run addition for general manager Troy Weaver, noting Reese's strong rebounding fits a major team need. The 23-year-old Baltimore native previously played four college seasons at Maryland alongside current Pelicans teammate Derik Queen.
Reese played 13 games for the Washington Wizards last season, averaging 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest. While Lambert expects Reese to spend developmental time in the G League initially, he highlights the 6-foot-9 forward as valuable frontcourt depth for head coach Jamahl Mosley, particularly after New Orleans allowed the sixth-most rebounds per game last season.
