Andre Drummond didn't celebrate the New York Knicks' 2025-26 championship with his new teammates, but he still had a big night.

Andre Drummond impressed in his New York Knicks debut against the Philadelphia 76ers after choosing to stay in the locker room during the pregame championship ring and banner ceremony. Drummond stated he did not want to participate because he had not earned it yet. Daily Knicks writer Jordanna Clark argues that Drummond sent the right message to the team through his mindset and strong on-court play.
With Karl-Anthony Towns battling early foul trouble, Drummond played nearly 18 minutes in the first half. He recorded 10 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks before halftime. Clark notes that the 33-year-old center, who signed a one-year deal with his hometown team, demonstrated the right commitment to help New York contend.
