Landry Shamet shot poorly in the Knicks' opener, but four assists offer a reason to evaluate his larger role before cutting it.

Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media argues that the New York Knicks should not reduce Landry Shamet's playing time following a low-scoring opening night. Shamet scored five points on 2-for-7 shooting across nearly 25 minutes during the Knicks' 106-100 defeat against Philadelphia.
Wilson notes that Shamet recorded four assists, effectively operating as an offensive connector to relieve pressure from Jalen Brunson. While Miles McBride and Jordan Clarkson remain bench options, the writer suggests head coach Mike Brown should evaluate Shamet across a larger sample size before diminishing his role.
