The incident occurred less than five minutes into the 76ers' 120-97 preseason victory over the New York Knicks at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Hukporti, who joined Philadelphia in free agency after winning a championship with New York, later returned to the bench area on crutches. Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse confirmed postgame that Hukporti is scheduled for imaging on his right Achilles to determine the severity of the injury.
