The New York Knicks need to learn how to ride the hot hand down the stretch of games, and so far that's been Karl-Anthony Towns.

Mark Nilon of Daily Knicks argues that the New York Knicks should prioritize Karl-Anthony Towns over Jalen Brunson in clutch moments during the early 2026-27 season. While Brunson is struggling with shooting inefficiencies following offseason wrist surgery, Towns has excelled down the stretch of close games, shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and 60.0 percent from three-point range in clutch minutes.
Nilon points out that the defending champion Knicks have started the season 2-4 while continuing to rely heavily on Brunson late in games. Towns, who did not receive a contract extension this past offseason, is averaging 21.8 points and 13.5 rebounds while showcasing improved mobility and defensive effectiveness.
