Novak Djokovic credited late NBA legend Kobe Bryant for inspiring his continued dedication after securing a record seventh China Open title in Beijing on Tuesday. Djokovic explained that Bryant's mindset regarding performing for fans who may only see him once continues to motivate him at age 39, emphasizing that elite athletes carry a duty to play for their supporters.

The victory marked Djokovic's 102nd career ATP singles title and extended his unbeaten tournament streak to 34 matches after opponent Alex de Minaur retired during the final.
