Denver Nuggets forward Spencer Jones is dealing with a left hamstring strain, head coach David Adelman confirmed following an MRI. Denver plans to take a cautious approach with Jones, putting his preseason availability in doubt with the goal of preparing him for the October 22 regular-season opener against Oklahoma City. Rookie Trevon Brazile received backup frontcourt minutes in the preseason opener while Jones recovers.
Meanwhile, Cameron Johnson expressed increased confidence entering his second season in Denver after an adjustment period last year. Coach Adelman also noted plans to utilize a 10-man rotation early in the season, while team scouts detailed the multi-year process that led to signing EuroLeague Best Defender Alpha Diallo to a minimum-salary contract.
