Aday Mara’s preseason debut proves he was missing one specific thing in Summer League

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Aday Mara delivered an impressive performance in Tuesday's preseason opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. After struggling during the Summer League, Mara recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three blocks in just 18 minutes of action.

Writer Mark Nilon argues that Mara excels primarily as a complementary player alongside pro-level talent, rather than as a focal point. Head coach Mark Daigneault praised Mara's offseason work ethic, while teammate Kenrich Williams predicted future All-Defensive honors for the rookie center.
