The tempers flared early in the first half of last night’s matchup between the Spurs and the Thunder after De’Aaron Fox’s hard foul on Chet Holmgren sparked a massive brawl.
De’Aaron Fox claimed Chet Holmgren exaggerated his fall after Fox committed a hard foul that sparked a brawl between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. Fox received a flagrant foul, while Victor Wembanyama, Jaylin Williams, Jalen Williams, and Kenrich Williams were assessed technical fouls. Fox stated he did not throw Holmgren hard and questioned the center's strength.
Holmgren responded that Oklahoma City needed to match the Spurs' physicality, while Jalen Williams defended stepping in for his teammate. The Thunder won the opening night matchup 116-104, with both Fox and Holmgren recording 14 points and seven rebounds.
