Oklahoma City Thunder rookie guard Otega Oweh will miss the entire 2026-27 season after suffering a ruptured right Achilles tendon. The injury occurred during overtime in the Thunder's 114-112 preseason victory over the Indiana Pacers on October 13. Oweh underwent successful surgery performed by Dr. Martin O'Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Oweh, who joined the Thunder on a two-way deal after being selected 41st overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, had averaged 6.8 points and 5.0 rebounds during preseason play. Teammates Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams assisted him off the floor following the non-contact injury.
