The OKC Thunder conveniently snatched up a defensive-minded prospect in Micah Peavy right before four of their primary defenders were forced out.

Writer Mark Nilon argues that the Oklahoma City Thunder's recent signing of Micah Peavy came at the perfect time following a series of defensive injuries. Key defensive players Cason Wallace and Jalen Williams suffered potentially season-ending injuries, while Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso are also sidelined.
Nilon suggests Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault should give Peavy immediate defensive minutes on his two-way contract. Peavy, a 2025 second-round pick who previously played 61 games for the New Orleans Pelicans, could provide defensive reinforcement beginning against the Dallas Mavericks.
