ORLANDO — Greatness in the NBA isn’t built in a vacuum. For Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero, the trajectory from top pick to cornerstone franchise player has been accelerated by the veteran voices and legendary minds around him.
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero reflected on his development, highlighting the lessons learned from working out with Kevin Durant and receiving mentorship from God Shammgod. Banchero emphasized absorbing Durant's high-intensity habits and game-speed repetitions during their summer session, while noting that Shammgod provided critical wisdom both on and off the court during his tenure on Orlando's coaching staff.
Banchero is coming off a season where he averaged career-best numbers and led Orlando to a 45–37 regular-season record. Looking forward, the Magic enter the upcoming campaign under new head coach Sean Sweeney, who takes over a core featuring Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, and newcomer Desmond Bane.
