The Suns have added another big man, claiming Drew Timme off waivers and converting his training camp contract to a two-way deal. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype first reported the claim, with John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 confirming the conversion.
The Phoenix Suns have claimed big man Drew Timme off waivers and converted his training camp contract into a two-way deal. Timme fills the final two-way roster spot alongside Duop Reath and guard Pat Spencer, following the team's decisions to waive Koby Brea and CJ Huntley. The transaction bolsters Phoenix's frontcourt depth, particularly with Mark Williams expected to miss several months after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Timme was recently waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves after spending training camp with the franchise. The 6-foot-9 forward previously played 36 NBA games across stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers, and he spent significant time last season with the G League's South Bay Lakers. Under his two-way contract, Timme is eligible to play in up to 50 NBA regular-season games for the Suns.
