2026 has been a difficult year for the Portland Trail Blazers in many aspects. A transition in ownership and ensuing public relations gaffes have cast a pall over the summer and early fall. No issue looms bigger in Portland’s sky…

Portland Trail Blazers co-owner Sheel Tyle stated that keeping the franchise in Portland is an unequivocal goal for the ownership group. Speaking to KATU's Guillermo Motta amid tense negotiations with the City of Portland over Moda Center renovations, Tyle emphasized that the organization is actively meeting with government officials and business leaders to finalize an arena deal.
Tyle noted that the organization is working to secure an agreement before state funding expires in two months. Writer Dave Deckard points out that majority owner Tom Dundon retains the final say regarding the franchise's decisions.
