The Portland Trail Blazers suffered a 125-103 defeat against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. Despite entering the contest with a 6-2 record, Portland struggled offensively from the beginning, scoring only 49 points in the first half. San Antonio capitalized early with a 10-0 run to take control of the contest. Victor Wembanyama led all scorers with 29 points for the Spurs, while Damian Lillard paced the Blazers with 15 points.
Portland played shorthanded without Shaedon Sharpe, Ja Morant, Vit Krejci, and Robert Williams III, who was held out for back-to-back rest. The absence of key rotation pieces forced Portland to rely heavily on young reserves including Chris Youngblood, Sidy Cissoko, and Yang Hansen. Following the loss, the Blazers have several days off before facing the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
