Ben Simmons has faced strong criticism from NBA fans on social media following the announcement of an upcoming documentary chronicling his return to basketball. The project, titled 'Being Ben' and produced by ESPN and Andscape, is scheduled to premiere on October 18. Simmons signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Sacramento Kings this offseason after sitting out the entire 2025-26 season to recover from back injuries and reset mentally.

Simmons previously played 18 games for the LA Clippers, averaging 2.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, following an injury-plagued stint with the Brooklyn Nets.
