The Story in 60 Seconds

Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud avoided a major knee injury and will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks following an MRI that revealed a right patellar subluxation. Raynaud suffered the injury late in the second quarter of Saturday's 111-106 preseason loss against the Golden State Warriors after colliding with Stephen Curry and was taken off the court in a wheelchair.

While the diagnosis is better than feared, Raynaud's availability appears unlikely for the Kings' regular season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 21. Teammates Darius Acuff Jr. and Ben Simmons expressed vocal support following the game, offering encouragement during his recovery.
