The Sacramento Kings announced on Saturday that they have waived veteran guard Elfrid Payton, along with Tristen Newton and Viktor Lakhin. Payton had signed a non-guaranteed training camp contract in September while competing for a spot on the regular-season roster.
Unlike Newton and Lakhin, Payton's deal did not include Exhibit 10 language, leaving his next destination uncertain. Newton and Lakhin are expected to join the Kings' G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, where each can earn a bonus of up to $91,000.
