De’Aaron Fox Disses Chet Holmgren, Fuels Rivalry After Spurs-Thunder Game

San Antonio Spurs point guard De'Aaron Fox dismissed Chet Holmgren following a heated scuffle during an opening-night loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. During the second quarter, Fox took down Holmgren in the post, resulting in multiple technical fouls and a flagrant foul on Fox. After the game, Fox questioned Holmgren's reaction to the contact, remarking that he did not throw him hard enough to warrant flying across the floor.

Thunder players quickly defended Holmgren both on the court and postgame, with Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander praising their teammate's impact. Holmgren emphasized matching San Antonio's physical style of play while questioning the three technical fouls assessed to Oklahoma City. The altercation further fueled the ongoing Western Conference rivalry between the two franchises following their matchup in the 2026 Western Conference Finals.
