Veteran NBA big man Kelly Olynyk has officially signed a contract overseas with Italian club BC Roma. The newly established team was co-founded by former Dallas Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson and current Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic. The signing was reported as official on Saturday by Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.
The 35-year-old forward played last season with the San Antonio Spurs, where his role diminished to 8.6 minutes per game across 42 appearances. BC Roma is set to compete in Italy's top league and the EuroCup, featuring a roster that includes former NBA players Nico Mannion, Marko Simonovic, and Trentyn Flowers.
