Free agent addition Tobias Harris has yet to play a game for the San Antonio Spurs, but his role is becoming increasingly unclear.

The San Antonio Spurs have altered their projected starting lineup, moving Devin Vassell to power forward alongside Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper. Air Alamo reports that this shift leaves free agent acquisition Tobias Harris facing a significantly diminished and uncertain bench role before playing his first game for the franchise.
Writer Cal Durrett argues that head coach Mitch Johnson made the right tactical decision to prioritize pace, perimeter defense, and three ball handlers. However, the writer notes that sliding Vassell to the four severely cuts into available power forward minutes for both Harris and Julian Champagnie.
