Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has earned the right to call himself the NBA's best. Victor Wembanyama must dominate to take that crown.

Air Alamo's Jahlil Williams argues that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is justified in claiming he is the NBA's best player until Victor Wembanyama fully takes over. Gilgeous-Alexander recently told TIME magazine that his production makes him the best in the league, coming off his second consecutive MVP award after averaging 31 points per game on 55% shooting.
While Williams notes that Wembanyama led the San Antonio Spurs past the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, he contends the young center must win an MVP decisively and dominate consistently to undisputed claim the throne. The two stars are scheduled to face off on October 20 at the Frost Bank Center.
