The NBA is expected to select the winning bid for owner of the Vegas expansion team from among three finalist group: Nancy Walton Laurie and Bill Laurie; Steve Apostolopoulos and Marc Lasry; Bill Foley and Jerry Colangelo.

The NBA is evaluating bids from three finalist groups to award ownership of a Las Vegas expansion franchise, according to league sources. The expected cost is projected at $12 billion to $13 billion, covering both the expansion team and a new arena. A winning group will reportedly be selected in the near future, ahead of a formal league approval process by late December targeting play for the 2028-29 season.
The three finalist groups include Nancy Walton Laurie and Bill Laurie; Steve Apostolopoulos and former Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry; and a joint bid between Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley and Hall of Famer Jerry Colangelo. The league is finalizing Las Vegas ahead of Seattle due to a more competitive bidding environment and arena logistics, though runners-up may join the Seattle expansion process.
