The Oklahoma City Thunder are acquiring wing Nique Clifford from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for two future second-round picks. To make room for Clifford on the roster, the Thunder are expected to waive recently-signed Dalen Terry. Oklahoma City pursued the trade to add wing depth after starters Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace suffered injuries expected to sideline them for most, if not all, of the season.
Clifford is currently earning $3.3 million in the second year of his rookie scale contract, with Sacramento having already exercised his $3.4 million team option for 2027-28. The deal leaves Oklahoma City roughly $3.5 million below the second apron, while the Kings move to $6.4 million under the luxury tax with two open roster spots.
