Toronto Raptors rookie Allen Graves transitioned from high school football to basketball following an elbow injury and a rapid seven-inch growth spurt. Initially a six-foot quarterback and wide receiver in Louisiana, Graves pivoted to basketball despite his mother's initial skepticism about his size, eventually growing to 6'7" during high school.
The former Santa Clara forward impressed during NBA Summer League play, averaging nearly 17 points and seven assists while shooting 50 percent from three-point range. Although he missed the Raptors' preseason opener with a minor groin tweak, Graves is expected to make an impact soon in regular season action.
