Former Toronto Raptors fan favorite power forward Chris Boucher is spurning the NBA to join the Shanghai Sharks in China.

Former Toronto Raptors forward Chris Boucher has agreed to a deal to continue his professional basketball career in China with the Shanghai Sharks. The move follows a brief stint with the Boston Celtics, where the 33-year-old appeared in only nine games last season. To clear a roster spot for Boucher, Shanghai waived veteran NBA center JaVale McGee.
Writer Mike Luciano views the international move as an indicator that NBA interest in Boucher has dried up, potentially signaling the end of his NBA tenure. Boucher, an NBA champion with Toronto in 2019, joins a Shanghai squad that includes former NBA guards D'Angelo Russell and Brandon Goodwin.
