Washington Wizards star Anthony Davis opened up on the 'Numbers on the Board' podcast regarding weight concerns during his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis revealed that he bulked up to approximately 268 pounds following the 2020 NBA championship to compete against centers like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. However, Davis admitted he felt too heavy and struggled while attempting to cut weight during the season.
Davis explained that his career has been most successful when paired alongside another primary center, allowing him to play power forward. After previously playing with big men on the Pelicans, Mavericks, and early Lakers teams, Davis expressed excitement about sharing frontcourt duties in Washington with Deandre Ayton and Alex Sarr.
