The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame announced that former Washington Mystics head coach and current Belgium women’s national team head coach Mike Thibault has been named to the 2027 induction class. Thibault is widely recognized for guiding the Mystics to their first WNBA championship in 2019 during his tenure with the franchise from 2013 to 2024.
The 2027 class also includes Diana Taurasi, Sandy Brondello, Judith Holland, Dee Kantner, and Molly Bolin Kazmer. It remains uncertain whether Thibault will attend the induction ceremony on June 27, 2027, in Knoxville, Tennessee, due to potential scheduling conflicts with Belgium's participation in the Women’s EuroBasket tournament.
