DETROIT — The Washington Wizards are interested in trading Anthony Davis to the Detroit Pistons for Jalen Duren, according to The Athletic. However, the Pistons don’t want to do that deal.
The Detroit Pistons have reportedly turned down interest from the Washington Wizards in a potential blockbuster trade involving Anthony Davis and Jalen Duren. According to reports from The Athletic and ESPN, Washington explored trading Davis for Duren, but Detroit does not appear interested in pursuing the proposed permanent player swap.
Duren remains a restricted free agent after rejecting Detroit's five-year, $200 million contract offer over a weight clause. Meanwhile, Davis is set to earn $58.5 million this season with Washington and intends to delay contract extension talks until next offseason if he is not traded beforehand.
