There’s some uncertainty whether first overall pick AJ Dybantsa will be available when the Wizards open the regular season at home against Milwaukee on Wednesday, according to ESPN.
Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa rolled his left ankle during the second quarter of Friday's preseason finale against the New Orleans Pelicans. Wizards head coach Brian Keefe characterized the injury as a minor ankle sprain, though the first overall draft pick is scheduled to undergo further evaluation ahead of Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Dybantsa suffered the injury landing awkwardly after a midrange jump shot, exiting the contest after scoring 12 points in 15 minutes. The former BYU forward scored in double figures in all four preseason games and is projected to start at small forward ahead of Bilal Coulibaly.
