Mary is the ex-wife of Mike Budenholzer, who spent 19 years as an assistant coach under Popovich in San Antonio. Mike and Mary Budenholzer divorced in 2016 after 20 years of marriage, nearly a decade before this union. Popovich's first wife, Erin, passed away in 2018 after 42 years of marriage.
