Darko Rajakovic sees RJ Barrett developing into a “winning player.” However, Barrett says he’s always been winning and his level of play is part of his continued growth.

RJ Barrett is continuing his offensive evolution with the Toronto Raptors, stepping up as the team adjusts to playing without the injured Kawhi Leonard. Toronto head coach Darko Rajakovic praised the 26-year-old wing for maturing into a winning player who takes responsibility in crucial moments. Barrett responded by highlighting his lifelong history of winning across high school, college, international, and NBA competitions.
Barrett currently leads the Raptors in scoring with 22 points per game while thriving in transition. The Raptors lead the NBA with 14.3 steals and 23.5 opponent turnovers per game, allowing Barrett to rank fifth league-wide with 5.3 fast-break points per contest. Meanwhile, Leonard is undergoing knee treatments outside Toronto and is expected to be evaluated in about a week.
