Left tackle will be placed on IR for third straight season

Arizona Cardinals left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his left biceps against the New York Giants. Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed on Monday that Johnson will undergo surgery and be placed on Injured Reserve. The injury marks the third consecutive season cut short by injury for Johnson, who was injured on the final drive while blocking edge rusher Abdul Carter.
With Johnson sidelined, the Cardinals will turn to rookie seventh-round pick Jayden Williams at left tackle, with Josh Fryar providing depth. Meanwhile, safety Dewey Wingard avoided serious injury with a right knee bone bruise. Right guard Isaiah Adams suffered an ankle injury, and Jon Gaines II is expected to start against the Detroit Lions if Adams cannot play.
