The Atlanta Falcons' offense has a different use of motion compared to their previous coaching staffs.

Blogging Dirty's Ronin Maguigan argues that the Atlanta Falcons' new coaching staff, led by Kevin Stefanski and Tommy Rees, has successfully transformed the team's offense through the strategic use of pre-snap motion. Maguigan writes that previous offensive coordinator Zac Robinson ran highly predictable motion schemes that hindered execution. In contrast, the new regime's approach has generated unpredictability, simplified reads for quarterback Michael Penix Jr., and created favorable matchups.
According to the analysis, Atlanta ranks ninth in the NFL with a 60% motion rate in 2026 under the new staff. Maguigan highlights specific play designs, including tight end shifts and jet motions, that have helped manipulate defensive coverages, free up receiver Drake London, and open rushing lanes.
