The Atlanta Falcons have started the 2026 season with consecutive defeats. The Falcons' offense has come under the scanner for scoring just 16 points with Cooper Rush as their starting quarterback.

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III criticized the Atlanta Falcons' quarterback play following the team's consecutive losses to start the season. Griffin questioned why unsigned veteran quarterbacks, including himself, Cam Newton, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Ryan Tannehill, are not on rosters to stabilize struggling offenses after Cooper Rush and undrafted rookie Jack Strand struggled in a Week 2 loss against the Carolina Panthers.
Rush threw four interceptions across two starts before being benched for Strand, who threw a pick-six on his first career pass attempt. Amid the offensive struggles, the Falcons announced that Michael Penix Jr. has been named the starting quarterback for their Week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers.
