The Atlanta Falcons have an unsung hero and underrated leader for their defensive line in Za'Darius Smith.

Blogging Dirty reports that veteran pass rusher Za'Darius Smith has become a vital contributor for the Atlanta Falcons after coming out of retirement. Through six games in the 2026 season, the 34-year-old has recorded 4.5 sacks and 13 pressures, effectively stabilizing Atlanta's edge rush following significant absences in the defensive lineup.
Smith originally stepped away from the NFL in October 2025 to spend time with his mother before she passed away. After also losing his grandmother and father, Smith returned to football, eventually signing a one-year, $6 million contract with the Falcons in August.
