With Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic out with "long-term" injuries, rookie guard Vega Ioane could be thrust into the Baltimore Ravens' starting center role.

The Baltimore Ravens are likely to shift rookie guard Vega Ioane to starting center following multi-week injuries to Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic. Head coach Jesse Minter confirmed that both centers sustained long-term injuries during their Week 3 victory against the Dallas Cowboys. Ioane stepped in at center during the fourth quarter and previously gained limited experience at the position while playing at Penn State.
Writer Eamon Cassels argues that moving Ioane to center is Baltimore's best internal choice despite carrying clear risks. Cassels notes that shifting a rookie guard to handle center communication duties is a tall task, especially given Ioane's six allowed pressures this season, but internal alternatives and potential trade options remain scarce.
