The Cleveland Browns have named quarterback Shedeur Sanders as their starter for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Todd Monken confirmed the decision after Deshaun Watson missed team repetitions throughout the week while in concussion protocol. Although Watson cleared protocol on Saturday and will travel, Sanders remains the designated starter for Sunday's game.
Elsewhere on the injury report, defensive tackle Maliek Collins has been ruled out with an elbow injury. Several other players showed positive progress ahead of the matchup, with offensive linemen Austin Barber and Elgton Jenkins, as well as wide receiver Denzel Boston, all practicing fully by Friday without carrying game designations.
