The Buffalo Bills land a centerfield safety in Jaylen McClain from Ohio State in a new 2027 NFL mock draft.

A new 2027 NFL mock draft by Justin Melo of NFL Draft On SI projects the Buffalo Bills to select Ohio State safety Jaylen McClain with the 32nd overall pick. The projection addresses Buffalo's struggles in secondary pass defense, with the Bills ranking 30th in the NFL against the pass heading into Week 9 of the 2026 season.
Writer Randy Gurzi notes that McClain's centerfield skillset would complement in-the-box safety Cole Bishop. The Bills previously released C.J. Gardner-Johnson following a suspension, leaving Damar Hamlin starting at safety. McClain has posted 37 tackles, four pass defenses, and two interceptions during his standout campaign with Ohio State.
