The Carolina Panthers have placed wide receiver Xavier Legette on the injured reserve due to a knee injury, knocking him out for at least the next four games.

The Carolina Panthers have placed third-year wide receiver Xavier Legette on injured reserve due to a knee injury. The move sidelines the former first-round pick for at least the next four games, including Sunday night's matchup against the Detroit Lions and Weeks 6 through 8 following Carolina's Week 5 bye.
Legette originally suffered the injury on a 55-yard reception against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. In other roster moves, the Panthers elevated receiver Ja'seem Reed and cornerback Robert Rochelle from the practice squad, while rookie right tackle Monroe Freeling cleared concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game.
