Chicago Bears offensive tackle Braxton Jones will miss the remainder of the 2026 NFL season after undergoing surgery on his right knee. Jones originally sustained a partially torn patellar tendon during Chicago's Week 3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Although he was initially placed on injured reserve on October 3 with hopes of a return, the team and player ultimately decided to proceed with season-ending surgery following a month of rehabilitation.
The 27-year-old tackle started the first three games of the season after signing a one-year, $5 million contract to stay with Chicago this past offseason. Selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones has made 47 starts across 49 career appearances with the franchise, but faces an uncertain future with his contract expiring at the conclusion of the season.
