The Chicago Bears have had some of the worst luck at left tackle for the past few years. Every time it looks like they might be finding some stability at the position, an injury happens. Braxton Jones got hit three…

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson faces a critical dilemma at left tackle following reports that starter Theo Benedet suffered a separated shoulder against Seattle. With Braxton Jones already sidelined on injured reserve due to knee surgery, Benedet is expected to miss at least one game. Sports Mockery writer Erik Lambert outlines three potential solutions for Chicago ahead of their upcoming Sunday night matchup against Tampa Bay.
Lambert identifies starting Ozzy Trapilo, who is recovering from a patellar tendon tear, as the most straightforward solution. Alternatively, the Bears could move left guard Joe Thuney to left tackle, inserting Jordan McFadden or Luke Newman at guard. If Benedet's injury is long-term, Lambert suggests signing free-agent tackles Taylor Decker or Cam Robinson, though he expects Chicago will rely on Trapilo in the short term.
