The Chicago Bears' defense has shown significant improvement after a difficult start to the season, largely due to the rapid development of rookies Dillon Thieneman and Malik Muhammad. After allowing 24 points in the first two quarters of the year, the defense has conceded only 22 points over the subsequent six quarters. Head coach Dennis Allen and his staff have made key adjustments to support the young defensive players.
Muhammad recently recorded an interception against Bryce Young and added a sack in his latest performance. Meanwhile, Thieneman leads the Bears' defense with 17 tackles and two passes defended. Thieneman was drafted 25th overall after the franchise allowed safeties Kevin Byard, Jaquan Brisker, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson to depart in free agency, and he has stepped up following an injury to free-agent signing Coby Bryant.
