While Amarius Mims is dominating in pass pro, his run blocking is suspect, and the Cincinnati Bengals need their best lineman to help unlock the rushing attack.

Writer Glenn Adams argues that Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Amarius Mims must significantly improve his run blocking to elevate the team's offense. While Mims has excelled in pass protection—not allowing a pressure across 176 consecutive pass-blocking snaps to protect Joe Burrow—Cincinnati's ground attack struggled heavily, gaining just 23 yards on 15 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to Pro Football Focus, Mims ranks second in pass blocking but drops to 59th among 69 qualified tackles in run blocking with a 50.9 grade. Adams contends that if Mims develops into a dominant run blocker alongside his elite pass protection, head coach Zac Taylor and the Bengals will establish a much-needed balanced rushing attack.
