Another punishing outing for Deshaun Watson prompted a stark warning about his future with the Browns.

The Cleveland Browns have been warned that starting quarterback Deshaun Watson risks suffering a season-ending injury due to excessive sacks, according to reporter Mary Kay Cabot. Watson was sacked eight times during Cleveland's 27-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The beating tied his career high for sacks taken in a game for the second time in four contests, while pushing his league-leading total to 33 sacks through eight games.
Watson briefly exited the game for a concussion evaluation following a hit by Jaquan Brisker, leading Shedeur Sanders to enter before Watson returned. After the game, Watson took personal responsibility for the sacks, admitting he needs to check down or throw the ball away rather than trying to extend plays. Head coach Todd Monken defended keeping Watson in the contest despite the lopsided score, which dropped Cleveland to a 5-3 record.
